Bryanna In Loving Memory, Posthumous Portrait Commission It is a somber truth that on occasion, portrait artists will be called on to paint posthumous portraits. Most of the time, the painting will be of a older person who has lived a full, rich life, but not always. This portrait of a child who was delivered stillborn was the most poignant, powerful and difficult work I've done to date. Painting her as the happy, healthy baby she might have been was an awesome task, in the truest, deepest sense of the word, and I was humbled and honored that her parents entrusted me with it. It is my hope that this portrait proves to be of comfort to them in the months and years ahead.
